Fallout, the new television show from Amazon and Kilter Films based on Bethesda’s best-selling video game franchise, starring Walter Goggins and Ella Purnell, will continue for at least one additional season, according to new reports that explain how Fallout will film its second season in California with a $25 million tax credit. All episodes of Fallout’s first season will begin streaming later this week exclusively on Prime Video, on Friday, April 11.

Variety reports:

  • “The California Film Commission announced Monday that it has awarded $152 million in tax incentives to a dozen TV shows.”
  • “The list…includes Fallout…expected to relocate to California for its second season.”
  • “Fallout has the largest budget of any of the shows, at $153 million in qualified expenditures for the season.”
  • “The first season was produced mostly in New York, with some filming in Utah.”
  • “California’s tax incentive is largely geared toward luring away TV shows that have already started production in another state or overseas.”
  • “Overall, the state awards about $330 million annually, with 57% going to TV shows and 43% to films.”
