Conclusion

In this review, we strapped the CORSAIR A115 to our test bench to see how it performed against other air coolers that we’ve tested. Its hulking black cube figure does its best to non-chalantly blend in with the rest of your system and impress you with its performance as opposed to its lack of RGB Bling. So, let’s recap the performance below and see how the CORSAIR A115 stood up!

Summary of Temperatures

CORSAIR A115 With AMD Ryzen 7 2700X

The CORSAIR A115 was able to operate at its quietest configuration and maintain a temperature of 57.5 degrees Celsius with our test bench running at stock clocks with its faster fan speed configuration yielding temperatures around 50 degrees Celsius. Overclocking saw a bump in temperatures as expected and the CORSAIR A115 was able to keep its cool all the way down to 1000 RPM.

Summary of Sound Levels

CORSAIR A115 Sound Levels with AMD Ryzen 7 2700X

At its slowest fan speed settings and 1000RPM, the CORSAIR A115 easily blended in with the ambient room sound levels and we could not hear a thing. At fan speeds greater than that, this unit was generally quiet and competitive with all of our other coolers, except for the be quiet! Dark Rock Pro 4 which ran quieter and hotter than the rest of the crowd.

Final Points

The CORSAIR A115 is a big honking cooler with a pair of 140mm fans strapped to it. This is, in fact, the highest amount of airflow we’ve seen on an air cooler as the dual fan editions typically have a 120mm fan paired with a 140mm fan to provide clearance for memory. The CORSAIR A115’s sliding fan mounts lets you adjust the height of the fans to work with your memory, thus, the larger matched fan combination.

From a sheer performance perspective, the CORSAIR A115 is the best cooler we’ve seen on our test bench to date, taking the crown from the previous holder, the Master Air MA824. On the downside, it does end up running a bit louder than other “stealth” targeted coolers, but it’s certainly not louder by an obnoxious margin.

When it comes to price we find that the CORSAIR A115 is available for $99.99 in e-tail (check our pricing widget for current pricing). If you’re only looking at performance numbers, this is the way. If you want performance at a reasonable sound level, this is also the way. If you’re looking for the quietest cooler at the expense of performance, look elsewhere.

Rounding it out, the CORSAIR A115 is now crowned with the best-performing air cooler that we’ve reviewed to date, and at $99.99, it’s well worth every dollar.

SUMMARY

The CORSAIR A115 is the best performing CPU Air Cooler that we've looked at so far as it put a significant beating upon each of the comparisons we put it up against. It was a moderate sound performer by not being obnoxious but also not exactly being stealth. Ultimately, if you're going for performance at a reasonable sound level without RGB bling, the CORSAIR A115 is the way.
