Introduction

CORSAIR is a leading manufacturer of all parts enthusiast. While they are best known for their memory, they also manufacture AIO coolers, regular coolers, keyboards, mice, headsets, fans, power supplies, and various RGB equipment that is coordinated with their in-house developed ICUE software.

On our test bench today is the CORSAIR A115 Twin Tower CPU Cooler heatsink fan unit. CORSAIR has produced CPU air coolers from time to time over the years and the A115 appears to be the only one that they’re currently making. It was announced at CES 2024 and is targeted at the high end of the CPU air cooler market.

We’ll strap it to our air cooling test platform that is built around a Ryzen 7 2700X processor with a manufacturer-claimed TDP of 105W. This should provide a reasonable usage case that we are likely to see with some of today’s most demanding air-cooled CPU coolers.

CORSAIR A115 Overview

The CORSAIR A115 (CT-9010011-WW) cooler is an air cooler that is designed to work on a wide variety of sockets, including Intel’s LGA1700/115x/1200 and AMD’s AM4/AM5. Intel’s upcoming LGA1851 socket is not mentioned, however, there’s still support for all current sockets on the market.

Heatsink

CORSAIR A115 sports six heat pipes which are connected to a copper cold plate to absorb heat from the CPU. The pipes extend up into an aluminum finned black block that houses a pair of fans on slide rails. The entire assembly is black and does not have any LED bling attached to it, which allows it to remain stealthy.

Fan

CORSAIR includes a pair of AF140 ELITE 140mm fans that are installed on rails to allow you to slide them up and down to better fit your rig. The fan supports a fan speed of 400 to 1600 RPM at a reported noise level of 33.9 dB(A). The stated airflow maximum is 84.5 CFM at a static pressure of 1.73 mmH20 using 4.7W of power. The fan does not list a MTTF. Lastly, this fan uses a 4-pin PWM connector and sport Fluid Dynamic bearings.

The CORSAIR A115 presents itself as a rather large size black cube. It looks quite similar to the MASTERAIR MA824 and be Quiet’s Dark Rock Pro 4.

Let’s move on now to our test setup and installation of the CORSAIR A115.

SUMMARY

The CORSAIR A115 is the best performing CPU Air Cooler that we've looked at so far as it put a significant beating upon each of the comparisons we put it up against. It was a moderate sound performer by not being obnoxious but also not exactly being stealth. Ultimately, if you're going for performance at a reasonable sound level without RGB bling, the CORSAIR A115 is the way.
