DOOM, id Software and ZeniMax Media’s legendary and genre-defining first-person shooter franchise, may be expanding with a new installment that will be announced during the upcoming Xbox Games Showcase, which is set for Sunday, June 9, according to a new trademark filing from ZeniMax that references “IDKFA,” a DOOM cheat code that grants players full megaarmor protection (200%), all weapons, full ammo, as well as all keys. The news comes a week after the publishing of a report titled “Microsoft’s Xbox turmoil,” one that ends with a note about how the company will be “banking on some new game announcements lifting the Doom around Xbox.”

Xbox on its latest showcase:

Like our double-feature last year with Starfield Direct, immediately following the Showcase we’ll be airing a special deep-dive into the next installment of a beloved franchise. We can’t say much, so for now we’ll call it the Xbox Games Showcase followed by [REDACTED] Direct.

This will also be our first Showcase featuring games from our portfolio of studios across Activision, Blizzard, Bethesda and Xbox Game Studios, in addition to titles from our third-party partners.
