Legacy of Kain: Soul Reaver I & II Remastered Launches for PS5 and PS4 on December 10

Legacy of Kain: Soul Reaver I & II Remastered, a remastered collection of the classic action-adventure games from Crystal Dynamics and Eidos Interactive that was developed to celebrate the series’ 25th anniversary, featuring remastered graphics and other improvements, is coming to PS5 and PS4 courtesy of Aspyr, according to a trailer for the game that has leaked ahead of today’s State of Play broadcast. Soul Reaver was released for the original PlayStation and Windows PCs in 1999, while its sequel, also directed by Uncharted’s Amy Hennig, arrived for the PS2 and Windows PCs in 2001.

The collection comprises:

  • Legacy of Kain: Soul Reaver
  • Legacy of Kain: Soul Reaver 2

A description reads:

  • “Centuries after your former master, Kain, betrays and executes you, you rise again and embark on a relentless quest for revenge.”
  • “Wield the Powers of a Wraith. Slay your former vampire brethren with your claws, bolts of telekinetic energy, and the elemental Wraith Blade. Grow stronger by devouring the souls of your enemies.”
  • “Shift Between Realms.The Elder God has granted you the ability to shift between the Spectral and Material Realms. Traverse the realms to solve puzzles, reveal new paths, and defeat your foes.”

In this sequel to the critically acclaimed Legacy of Kain: Soul Reaver, reassume the role of Raziel, and travel back through the currents of time into various eras of Nosgoth’s past in your relentless pursuit of Kain. I was a huge fan of these games back in the day. Too bad I don't have a PS anything.

Long before the Uncharted series, LoK introduced me to Amy Hennig's work. I've never finished any of the games, but I got all of them on both Steam and GOG. Didn't know they were planning on making remasters. Those remasters better f*cking come out on PC.
