AMD has released “Toyshop,” a new tech demo that demonstrates what its first RDNA 4 graphics cards (i.e., the Radeon RX 9070 and Radeon RX 9070 XT) can do in the realm of real-time path tracing, but it has failed to impress some viewers due to ghosting, artifacting, smearing, and other visual problems that can be observed in some scenes.
From one such report, which claims it’s so bad that it may make some gamers “wince”:
…take a close look at the red building in the background. There’s a lot of blurry pixel smearing on an object that is otherwise supposed to be static. Then allow your eyes to move towards the green car in the foreground, with speckled, noisy artifacts on the interior and indistinct, edge-smeared headlights, before finally coming to rest on the green car in the top right quarter of the shot—which appears to be, err, glitching through time.
As for the scene in question:

Here’s the full tech video, which AMD published on February 28 as part of its Radeon RX 9070 Series and RDNA 4 unveil event:
“The moment is now—AMD RDNA 4 graphics cards have arrived, delivering breakthrough performance to every battle, mission, and victory empowering you to make every play count,” AMD said. “Experience a new era of gaming innovation with AMD.”
