The Future Games Show Piled On 40 More Games, and Most of Them Land Before Christmas

Opening Night Live gets the headlines and the celebrity cameos. The Future Games Show is where the release dates live, and this year it delivered a wall of them.

The main broadcast aired yesterday at 10 AM PDT, hosted by Nick Apostolides and Angela Sant’Albano, better known as Leon Kennedy and Grace Ashcroft from Resident Evil Requiem, and ran more than 40 games with a dozen world premieres. FGS Live From gamescom followed immediately after with show floor reporting and another block of reveals. Between the two, here is what PC players should be putting on a wishlist.

Dates Anounced

• Serious Sam: Shatterverse, a five player co-op roguelite FPS starring multiple alternate Sams, lands August 31.
• Crimson Moon from ProbablyMonsters arrives September 1. Physics comedy Shoe It All! hits September 3.
• Capcom’s Onimusha: Way of the Sword got a new cinematic trailer plus a director Satoru Nihei deep dive on the Lion Dogs mechanic, and it is out on PC and consoles September 4.
• Castle-on-wheels roguelike Wanderburg enters Steam early access September 8.
• Blackwood, in which you run a DVD store and moonlight as an assassin, ships its first act September 16.
• The Walking Dead: Streets of Survival follows September 18.
• Space station puzzler Rivage and Graveyard Keeper 2 both land September 22. Ion Lands’ cyberpunk life sim Nivalis Nights arrives September 29.
• APART, a platformer where you play a zombie child and their severed arm, is October 9.
• Warhammer 40,000: Boltgun 2 hits October 14 with a soundtrack collaboration with Doom composer Mick Gordon, which is the single best value-add any of these trailers announced.
• Absurdist co-op stealth game We Are So Cooked closes out the run on October 15.

Reveals

• Wolcen II got a world premiere trailer, with the dark fantasy ARPG sequel heading to early access in 2027.
• Nekki showed off SPINE’s gun-fu combat and story, due Spring 2027.
• Toplitz revealed Prospera, an open-world city builder you also live in, plus a Vikings Dynasty gameplay trailer and The Backwood DLC for Medieval Dynasty in early 2027.
• Amphibian, a hand-drawn frog-led tactical RPG, and Matelotes, a cartoon longship adventure heading to Steam early access in 2027, rounded out the premieres, along with horror entries Sweetheart and BLACK WALLS, both 2027.

The Rest

• The show opened with Worms Galactic Tactics, a turn-based roguelike spinoff due 2027, and the trailer confirmed a brand new mainline Worms game is also in development.
• Neon Abyss 2 leaves early access in Fall 2026.
• Fuse Games sat for an interview on Star Wars: Galactic Racer, Maverick Games creative director Mike Brown walked through open-world driving game CLUTCH, and Paradox discussed post-apocalyptic grand strategy title Afterworld.
• Eclipse Glow’s Tides of Annihilation, which also picked up an RTX trailer from NVIDIA this week, got a behind-the-scenes segment.

Almost nothing here is chasing 4K path tracing, and a large share of it is co-op. If you have been holding off on a GPU upgrade because prices are absurd, the September and October calendar is unusually kind to whatever card you already own.
