Control Resonant Launches Today to Mixed Reviews with Some Giving High Praise While Others Are Considerably Less Enthusiastic

Remedy Entertainment could have another hit on its hands, as some early reviews are already giving praise for its latest franchise addition, Control Resonant. The latest game in Remedy’s connected universe, which so far has comprised projects that began with the Alan Wake games and then expanded with Control and FBC: Firebreak, now includes Jesse Faden’s younger brother, Dylan Faden, who must fight his way through a reality-altered New York as the Hiss and other new threats attempt to take over. One never knows for sure how well a new franchise entry will be received, and to be honest still too early to say for sure with Control Resonant, but if early media outlet reviews are a sign, then Remedy’s latest could be off to a good start; ultimately, though, it’ll be the players who paint the picture of success for the game.

Sales numbers and player reviews will truly reveal how well the game is received, but it’s probably for the best that there’s a mixed batch from media outlets, as those curious about the game should have more diverse content to review before purchasing. If wondering about the hammer Dylan is seen wielding in various images and clips, it’s called The Aberrant, which is a shape-shifting weapon similar to the Director’s Gun that Jesse Faden used in the first game, and while each is significantly different, they convey a story mechanic that Remedy is continuing for its lead characters. Control Resonant is available for PC and consoles as of today.
