James Gunn has shared a new look at Superman, revealing what actor David Corenswet, 30, will look like as the Man of Steel ahead of the movie’s release next year on July 11, 2025. Critics of the suit say that the new outfit carries many similarities to what was worn by Henry Cavill, who Corenswet is replacing, while others have pointed out how there are some clear differences in play, including a revised logo based on Kingdom Come and what appears to be less form-fitting attire.

A full look at the new costume:

Critics are saying:

  • “It’s not bad but why does it look baggy/wrinkly?”
  • “This looks like a g*****n cosplay! Let’s not forget to mention this looks like a bootleg Henry clone!”
  • “I don’t think his mom made this suit for him”
  • “A very strange reveal image, and his suit looks baggy. Idk man”
  • “No Henry Cavill? Who’s this guy?”

Superman also stars:

  • Rachel Brosnahan (Lois Lane)
  • Nicholas Hoult (Lex Luthor)
  • Skyler Gisondo (Jimmy Olsen)
  • Sara Sampaio (Eve Teschmacher)
  • Edi Gathegi (Mister Terrific)
  • Terence Rosemore (Otis)
  • Anthony Carrigan (Metamorpho)
  • Isabela Merced (Hawkgirl)
  • Nathan Fillion (Guy Gardner)
  • María Gabriela de Faría (The Engineer)
  • Wendell Pierce (Daily Planet editor Perry White.)

One outlet noted:

This is a unit shot, it’s not an overly produced CGI shot, and it’s indicative of what we’ll see in the film. Not everything is green screen, and that creates an environment that’s significantly better for the actors.

Corn sweat. Couldn't he have come up with a better stage name? I don't care how good the movie is, I won't be able to get passed that name lol

It doesn't appear to be his stage name, but his actual real last name. And you don't get to choose your last name (unless you're a woman and get married and choose to take your husband's last name).

Hahahahahahaha he's not the only actor with a name that makes people laugh, and not even close to one of the worst ones.

You do if you're an actor. That's what a stage name is for. Tom Cruise sounds a whole lot better than his real name, Tom Mapother. Olivia Wilde sounds a lot better than Olivia Cockburn, Natalie Portman is better than Neta-Lee Hershlag, Joaquín Phoenix is better than Joaquín Bottom and just about anything would sound better than corn sweat.

I recognize the badguy in the background. Can't put my finger on it though.

Maybe that's why he looks so depressed in the photo?
