Star Wars Jedi, the action-adventure video game series that Respawn Entertainment launched in 2019 with Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order before following up on it with a next-gen sequel, 2023’s Star Wars Jedi: Survivor, will be concluding with a third installment, according to the latest statements from Laura Miele, president of Entertainment and Technology at EA. Miele, who spoke during a presentation at EA’s investor relations event today, told investors that Respawn is currently “working hard” on a “final chapter” for the series that will presumably continue Cal Kestis’ story following the events of Jedi: Survivor, a game that players say is still a “stuttering mess” despite the recent patch.
Miele said at the event:
- “We have delivered some of the highest quality and best-selling Star Wars games of all-time, with over $5 billion in net bookings.”
- “This impressive track record includes of course the Star Wars Jedi games, where over 40 million Star Wars fans have connected with Cal Kestis and his arc of becoming a powerful Jedi.”
- “Respawn is working hard to bring the final chapter of this thrilling story to players.”
Critics of Jedi: Survivor are saying:
- “After Patch, Ray tracing is still a stuttering mess. I didnt see much improvement on my side. Ray tracing is just badly implemented in this game.”
- “…RT off is fine but with RT on framerate still drop bellow 60 in Koboh’s village and on Coruscant.”
- “Frame rate stutters are mostly gone now, but when using my PS5 controller with the game after a few minutes my character will stop responding to the controller inputs.”
- “My Vram usage increases until it hits 24GB and I get frametime spikes as well as a large drop in fps in some instances.”
- “The game is totally screwed, Roll back the patch, it was actually playable for me before this.”

EA on Star Wars Jedi: Survivor:
The story of Cal Kestis continues in Star Wars Jedi: Survivor, a third-person, galaxy-spanning, action-adventure game from Respawn Entertainment, developed in collaboration with Lucasfilm Games. This narratively driven, single-player title picks up 5 years after the events of Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order and follows Cal’s increasingly desperate fight as the galaxy descends further into darkness. Pushed to the edges of the galaxy by the Empire, Cal will find himself surrounded by threats new and familiar. As one of the last surviving Jedi Knights, Cal is driven to make a stand during the galaxy’s darkest times — but how far is he willing to go to protect himself, his crew, and the legacy of the Jedi Order?
