Yesterday was the big reveal for the Nintendo Switch 2, during which many details, including hardware specs, new design functions, and more, were unveiled. After more than eight years the NS2 is almost here, although it will remain to be seen if the console maker can out-supply scalpers. Pessimism aside, it will be priced at $449 (console only), and a limited edition Mario Kart World bundle going for $499. It should be noted that Nintendo has indicated both MSRPs are truly only suggested and actual price(s) may vary, so buyer(s) beware. Nintendo has previously said it has been working to ensure enough supply for launch day to combat scalping so here’s hoping their efforts pan out for consumers.

Well, with that out of the way let’s get on to the more exciting parts of the Nintendo Switch 2 release announcements. First off here is a list of over twenty third-party games coming to the NS2. One that is getting more prominent media coverage is CD PROJEKT RED’s Cyberpunk 2077. It was notorious for a somewhat disastrous 2020 launch that saw it removed from the PlayStation store after many complaints regarding its buggy state and performance issues. As a child of the 70’s I was part of the many who became enthralled by the video arcade invasion of the 1980’s. Saving money from various odd jobs I purchased my first computer from a friend of my dad, a used Atari 400, around 1982. Eventually it would end up being a lifelong passion of upgrading and modifying equipment that, of course, led into a career in IT support.
