MSI has created a commemorative edition PC to celebrate the 30th anniversary of Pixar’s classic franchise, featuring themes from its popular characters. “From Infinity and beyond,” or at least for those living overseas and lucky enough to snag one, since this release is only being made available to customers in Taiwan. Production is limited to 500 units, and pre-orders include a discount that brings the price to ~$2,700 (USD) / NT $79,900. MSI has indicated that some of its supply channels may offer components individually, but the discount is only available to those who purchase the complete system. Major components such as the case, graphics card, PSU, motherboard, and an AIO have all been individually designed with themes based on a character from Toy Story.

“MSI launches the “Toy Story” animated film 30th Anniversary Commemorative Edition desktop computer, with the theme of “the ultimate toy in the adult world”, turning many classic and popular elements in the animated film into the soul of computer hardware design, using technology to transform childhood memories into a new look that will continue to accompany us as we grow up.”

As a child of the 70’s I was part of the many who became enthralled by the video arcade invasion of the 1980’s. Saving money from various odd jobs I purchased my first computer from a friend of my dad, a used Atari 400, around 1982. Eventually it would end up being a lifelong passion of upgrading and modifying equipment that, of course, led into a career in IT support.
