Warner Bros. is laughing its way to the bank (and record books) with the success of its super-villain origin story. Joker has managed to earn over $800 million worldwide, besting Deadpool and Deadpool 2’s $783/$785 M. Unadjusted for inflation, that makes it the most successful R-rated movie ever (and it didn’t even open in China).

The film should earn around $18 million (-39%) over the weekend, again placing in the top spot for one more weekend and bringing its 24-day domestic cume to $277 million. That will put it just under The Hangover ($277 million in 2009) and The Matrix Reloaded ($282 million back in 2003) among all-time R-rated domestic grossers.
