Gears 5

1080p “Insane” Settings

Gears 5

In Gears 5 you can set the game to an “Ultra” preset, but what many may not know is that there are a few more settings you can manually turn up to “Insane” level.  So in this test, we have done that and are therefore running the game at the highest possible settings at 1080p.

We see absolutely no performance differences between 4GB and 8GB Radeon RX 5500 XT in this game.

1080p “Ultra” Settings

Gears 5

Just to make doubly sure we lowered the settings down to the “Ultra” preset at 1080p in this graph.  However, as you can see performance is the same and within the margin of error. Let’s raise the resolution and see what happens.

1440p “Ultra” Settings

Gears 5

At 1440p we have “Ultra” settings enabled.  Even at this high resolution there is no change between 4GB and 8GB.  Performance is also at an unplayable level now as the Radeon RX 5500 XT can’t handle 1440p.
