The Hollywood Reporter has learned that Netflix is working on a live-action film based on 1983 arcade hit, Dragon’s Lair. The protagonist, Dirk the Daring – a knight who battles Singe, the evil, titular dragon – will be portrayed by none other than Deadpool himself, Ryan Reynolds.

Judging by this casting choice, Dragon’s Lair should be quite the comedic romp. Its script is being penned by The Lego Movie and Scary Stories to Tell in the Dark’s Dan and Kevin Hageman. Reynolds will produce the film via his banner, Maximum Effort.

Dragon’s Lair debuted in 1983 for arcades in the LaserDisc format and was later ported to countless other platforms, such as the Commodore 64, Amiga, Super NES, and Sega CD. Featuring animation by ex-Disney animator Don Bluth, the interactive movie game is regarded by many as one of the best arcade titles of all time.
