Gaming Performance Page 1
On this page and the next we are going to look at how overclocking has improved game performance by overclocking. We will simply compare by apples-to-apples the default clock speed to our highest overclock as shown on the previous page.
Red Dead Redemption 2
We ran the in-game benchmark three times and reported the average of the three runs for Red Dead Redemption 2. We used 1920×1080 as the resolution and manually set all in-game settings to maximum levels. At stock speeds, Red Dead Redemption 2 achieved an average of 41 frames per second. Overclocking increased performance by 7.8%, boosting the average frames per second to 44.2.
Metro Exodus
We ran the benchmark utility three times and reported the average of each of the three runs for Metro: Exodus. We used 1920×1080 as the resolution and the Ultra default settings. The Extreme settings were simply too much for the GeForce RTX 2060 FE to handle at 1080p. It turned in 55.3 frames per second at stock clocks and overclocking yields a boost to 58.9 frames per second, a 6.5% increase.
The Division 2
We ran the in-game benchmark three times and reported the average of the three runs for The Division 2. We used 1920×1080 as the resolution and the highest possible in-game settings. The stock performance turned in an average of 68.3 frames per second while overclocking provided an average of 74.3 frames per second, an 8.8% increase.
