Game Launch Times
One area that we will test are launch times, specifically games. The testing is simple, we will launch a game till it loads to the main menu and time it. For these tests we do have at least one comparison included so the numbers make a bit more sense. We are using a 1TB Mushkin SATA SSD 2.5” drive for comparison, which is the main boot drive.
In Battlefield V there is literally only 1 second difference between the load times of the SATA SSD and the XPG SX8100 SSD.
In Read Dead Redemption 2 we again see almost a 1 second difference.
In Metro Exodus the result is even closer, on the Mushkin SATA SSD it takes two minutes fifteen seconds and 7 milliseconds. On the XPG SX8100 it takes two minutes fifteen seconds and 1 millisecond. Therefore, it is the same.
