Ahead of its world premiere on August 26, COD Tracker has shared the official description for Activision and Treyarch’s latest Call of Duty: Black Ops title, Cold War. Contrary to previous rumors, this will be a direct sequel to the original game, which came out in 2010. It’ll also put players back into the boots of the franchise’s classic protagonists, Alex Mason and James Woods.

Black Ops Cold War will drop fans into the depths of the Cold War’s volatile geopolitical battle of the early 1980s,” the description reads. “Nothing is ever as it seems in a gripping single-player Campaign, where players will come face-to-face with historical figures and hard truths, as they battle around the globe through iconic locales like East Berlin, Vietnam, Turkey, Soviet KGB headquarters and more.”

“As elite operatives, you will follow the trail of a shadowy figure named Perseus who is on a mission to destabilize the global balance of power and change the course of history. Descend into the dark center of this global conspiracy alongside iconic characters Woods, Mason and Hudson and a new cast of operatives attempting to stop a plot decades in the making.”

COD Tracker has also revealed the contents of Cold War’s Ultimate Edition, which includes a season pass and free next-gen upgrades for console owners. There’s also a weapons pack and “Land, Sea, and Air” pack comprising various operator/vehicle skins and weapon blueprints.

Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War will supposedly be released on November 13.
