AMD Launches Ryzen Processors for Chromebooks

Ready for Zen-based Chromebooks? AMD has announced its first Ryzen mobile processors designed specifically for Chrome OS devices: the 4C/8T Ryzen 7 3700C (4.0/2.3 GHz), 4C/8T Ryzen 5 3500C (3.7/2.1 GHz), and 2C/4T Ryzen 3 3250C (3.5/2.6 GHz). The company is also launching two new Athlon CPUs for Chromebooks, the 2C/4T Athlon Gold 3150C (3.3/2.4 GHz) and 2C/2T Athlon Silver 3050C (3.2/2.3 GHz).

The first Chromebooks with Ryzen processors will release in Q4 2020. According to AMD, users can expect performance gains of up to 212 percent for multitasking and content creation. Graphics also receive a big boost thanks to Radeon technology.
