Following a surprise leak of lengthy last-gen console footage over the weekend, CD PROJEKT RED has uploaded a new Cyberpunk 2077 video comprising nearly seven minutes of gameplay on the PlayStation 4 Pro and PlayStation 5 consoles.
The open-world, sci-fi action RPG appears to look rather stunning even on older hardware. Note that the PlayStation 5 footage isn’t of a legitimate next-gen build, but the PS4 version running via backward compatibility. Even so, Cyberpunk 2077 will clearly be a visual feast regardless of what platform it’s running on.
Cyberpunk 2077 is coming to the PC, Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and Google Stadia on December 10th, 2020. Next-gen Xbox Series X and PlayStation 5 versions are expected to be available sometime next year.
Important to note that the PS5 video is running in backward compatibility mode. The "next gen" update for consoles is coming post-release. So both the PS4 Pro and PS5 appear to have similar LOD issues. It doesn’t look bad for a Gen 8 console, but certainly not close to some of Sony’s first-party titles running on the PS4 Pro.
