1080p GeForce RTX 3060 Ti FE Performance
On this page, we will start with 1080p gameplay performance on the GeForce RTX 3060 Ti Founders Edition. Note that the comparison cards we are using are a GeForce RTX 2080 SUPER Founders Edition and GeForce RTX 2060 SUPER Founders Edition and a Radeon RX 5700 XT. For all games we are using the built-in benchmarks where possible, otherwise, it’s a manual run-through. We are running the games in either DX12 or Vulkan where supported.
Watch Dogs Legion
In Watch Dogs Legion we have the game set at the highest “Ultra” preset with the HD Textures installed at 1080p. The new GeForce RTX 3060 Ti Founders Edition is on par with GeForce RTX 2080 SUPER FE, which is a more expensive video card. Upgrading from the GeForce RTX 2060 SUPER FE is a 32% performance increase for the same price. Upgrading from the Radeon RX 5700 XT is an 18% performance increase. The game is very playable at this level near 80 FPS at 1080p and the highest settings, sans Ray Tracing.
Horizon Zero Dawn
In Horizon Zero Dawn the GeForce RTX 3060 Ti FE is actually faster than the GeForce RTX 2080 SUPER FE by 6%. It’s 40% faster than the GeForce RTX 2060 SUPER FE and 18% faster than the Radeon RX 5700 XT. This game is more than playable at 1080p on the GeForce RTX 3060 Ti FE.
Microsoft Flight Simulator 2020
In Microsoft Flight Simulator at 1080p, even at “Ultra” preset, this game is heavily CPU limited. This means all video cards are very bunched up here. Technically the new GeForce RTX 3060 Ti FE does take the lead over the others and offers performance 3-4% faster. More importantly, the game is playable with it at 1080p very smoothly.
Red Dead Redemption 2
Red Dead Redemption 2 is still a demanding game. At 1080p with the highest in-game graphics settings the GeForce RTX 3060 Ti FE comes in right under the GeForce RTX 2080 SUPER FE. It’s not far apart, about a 3% difference. The extra memory bandwidth on the RTX 2080 SUPER FE may be giving it the advantage in this game, but something an overclock would take care of on the RTX 3060 Ti FE. As an upgrade from the GeForce RTX 2060 SUPER the RTX 3060 Ti FE is 32% faster. Compared to the Radeon RX 5700 XT it’s 27% faster. Importantly, the GeForce RTX 3060 Ti FE allows above 60FPS at 1080p in this game, so it feels great and is very smooth gameplay.
Ghost Recon Breakpoint
In Ghost Recon Breakpoint we have the game set at “Ultimate” quality, which is the highest setting. The new GeForce RTX 3060 Ti FE does wonderfully here, at 121FPS. It’s faster than the GeForce RTX 2080 SUPER FE by 6%. As an upgrade from the GeForce RTX 2060 SUPER FE it’s 34% faster, and it’s 22% faster than the Radeon RX 5700 XT. The game is more than playable.
Control

As an upgrade from the GeForce RTX 2060 SUPER FE it is 38% faster. As an upgrade from the Radeon RX 5700 XT, it is 23% faster. This game is butter smooth on the RTX 3060 Ti FE.
Wolfenstein Youngblood
What can we say, Wolfenstein Youngblood’s performance is off the charts at 1080p with the highest quality setting. The GeForce RTX 3060 Ti FE is at an incredible 271FPS which is 7% faster than the GeForce RTX 2080 SUPER FE. As an upgrade from the RTX 2060 SUPER FE it’s 43% faster. From the Radeon RX 5700 XT, it is 37% faster.
Metro Exodus
Metro Exodus is still a very demanding game, especially at “Extreme” quality. The GeForce RTX 3060 Ti FE does an excellent job in this game and allows us to play at 60FPS at 1080p with the highest in-game settings. That’s just as powerful as the GeForce RTX 2080 SUPER FE in this game. The GeForce RTX 2060 SUPER FE was not playable, so the new RTX 3060 Ti FE provides a 38% performance improvement. Compared to the Radeon RX 5700 XT that is a 19% performance improvement.
Shadow of the Tomb Raider
In Shadow of the Tomb Raider, we have the highest image quality options set at 1080p with SMAA 4X enabled. The new GeForce RTX 3060 Ti FE does extremely well, offering 105FPS at 1080p.
