Video Card Comparison

We are comparing the MSI GeForce RTX 3070 GAMING X TRIO to the Radeon RX 6800 that sits around the same price point based upon MSRP. We’re also throwing in the ASUS ROG STRIX 2080 Ti to see how it compares to the prior generation’s king card that sold for more than double its price.

Keep in mind that the ASUS ROG STRIX GeForce RTX 2080 Ti is a factory overclocked video card from ASUS. It has a factory boost clock of 1650MHz which is higher than a Founders Edition video card. Due to the better cooling and thermals GPU Boost will also clock the frequency higher than a Founders Edition. Therefore, as you read the game performance comparisons in this review note that the ASUS ROG STRIX GeForce RTX 2080 Ti is a tougher comparison video card to the MSI GeForce RTX 3070 GAMING X TRIO than a GeForce RTX 2080 Ti Founders Edition would be. You will get better performance out of the ASUS ROG STRIX RTX 2080 Ti than a Founders Edition video card. This gives our new RTX 3070 a more difficult climb.
