Introduction
Before you read on, the goal of this editorial serves to provide some important information. This will introduce me and my role on the website. This will also detail out our review methodologies and review format on page 3, 4 and 5. Thank you for taking the time to read this, it means a lot to us all.
Welcome to our new computer hardware review website, TheFPSReview.com.
The FPS Review plays on the acronym “FPS.”
Gamers know it as First-Person Shooter, and hardware enthusiasts know it as Frames Per Second. Around here, we like to think of it as “Finding Performance Statistics.” There are several creative ways to use FPS, and it is this foundation that we have built our new hardware review website. It is based on a strong acronym that carries weight and meaning with gamers and hardware enthusiasts. It invokes an immediate familiarity.
Who Am I
My name is Brent Justice, you may have heard of me in the industry. From 2001 to 2019, 18 years, I worked with and wrote for HardOCP.com full time. I was the man in charge of everything GPU/Video Card and gaming at HardOCP. As many of you know, HardOCP was mothballed in early 2019 due to the previous owner, Kyle Bennett moving on to an exciting new job at Intel. What that meant for the rest of us at HardOCP was that we were out of a job, plain and simple. However, many of us at HardOCP, including myself, did not want to stop, and have picked up the torch to continue on in our own way.
Myself and key reviewers at HardOCP (Dan (motherboards) Paul (PSU) and Richard (coolers)) want to continue exploring computer hardware and new technologies. We have a passion for hardware and gaming. Along with David Schroth, a GPU hardware reviewer from 2012-2016, we now have the opportunity to bring us all together once again and re-unite under a new banner to carry on that passion. This really is a band of HardOCP reviewers taking on a new mantle. While the coat of paint and carpet smell is new, the air is fresh with a band of reviewers that have the same passion and desire we had on HardOCP.
