Leaker @KOMACHI_ENSAKA has discovered an EEC filing for ASRock Radeon RX 6600 XT and RX 6600 graphics cards. It appears that they will feature 8 GB of VRAM, which implies that they are aimed at 1080p and 1440p gaming. It was previously rumored that the Radeon RX 6600 would feature 12 GB of VRAM; there could be multiple variants for this model. AMD may announce these GPUs at Computex 2021.

Depending on where the Radeon RX 6600 XT sits on AMD’s product stack, it could compete with Nvidia’s RTX 3050 Ti or RTX 3060. That said, if AMD positions its 8GB Radeon RX 6600 XT against Nvidia’s 12GB RTX 3060, they will be shooting themselves in the foot by allowing their existing RX 6000 series marketing claims to be used against them.

As a child of the 70’s I was part of the many who became enthralled by the video arcade invasion of the 1980’s. Saving money from various odd jobs I purchased my first computer from a friend of my dad, a used Atari 400, around 1982. Eventually it would end up being a lifelong passion of upgrading and modifying equipment that, of course, led into a career in IT support.
