Hideo Kojima confirmed during Microsoft’s Xbox & Bethesda Games Showcase yesterday that he had officially entered into a partnership with the Windows maker, one that will see the legendary game creator develop a potentially revolutionary title that leverages Microsoft’s cloud technologies. The official Twitter account for Kojima Productions has now followed that exciting news up with a tweet to reassure PlayStation fans that this collaboration has no ill effect on its long-time relationship with Sony Interactive Entertainment and that the studio continues to have “a very good partnership” with the PlayStation brand. Death Stranding, Kojima’s most recent blockbuster, remains exclusive to PlayStation platforms and the PC. It isn’t clear whether the post-apocalyptic action game, or its rumored sequel, will ever make its way to Xbox consoles.

From legendary game creator Hideo Kojima comes an all-new, genre-defying open world action adventure for PS4, starring Norman Reedus, Mads Mikkelsen, Léa Seydoux and Lindsay Wagner.

In the near future, mysterious explosions have rocked the globe, setting off a series of supernatural events known as the Death Stranding. With otherworldly creatures plaguing the landscape, and mass extinction imminent, it’s up to Sam Porter Bridges to travel across the ravaged wasteland and save humanity from impending annihilation.
