AIDA64 CPU Benchmarks

Now we will look at some specific AIDA64 CPU Benchmarks which test specific parts of the CPUs. The AIDA64 PhotoWorxx benchmark stresses integer arithmetic and multiplication execution units of the CPU and also the memory subsystem. The AIDA64 AES benchmark performance using AES data encryption. The SHA3 benchmark tests CPU performance using the SHA3 hashing algorithm and is AVX-512 aware. The FPU Julia benchmarks measures the single-precision floating-point performance of the CPU. The FPU Mandel CPU test tests the double-precision floating-point performance of the CPU.

CPU PhotoWorxx

Ryzen 9 7900X Review AIDA64 PhotoWorxx

In the CPU PhotoWorxx benchmark, the new Ryzen 9 7900X outperforms all of the previous generation Ryzen 5000 series CPUs quite well, it’s a big improvement over the last gen. However, it is still completely outperformed by all the Alder Lake CPUs, including the Core i5-12600K. Compared to the last generation Ryzen 9 5900X the new 7900X improves performance by 77%, which is a huge improvement from the last generation. Compared to the Intel Core i9-12900K the 12900K is 41% faster.

CPU AES

Ryzen 9 7900X Review AIDA64 CPU AES

In CPU AES the new Ryzen 9 7900X kills every other CPU in performance, beating the Core i9-12900K and 5950X. Compared to the Ryzen 9 5900X the 7900X is 34% faster, which is quite a good uplift.

CPU SHA3

Ryzen 9 7900X Review AIDA64 CPU SHA3

In the CPU SHA3 test, the Ryzen 9 7900X is again killing every CPU, but this time in even greater performance. It’s 50% faster than the 5900X and 33% faster than the Core i9-12900K.

FPU Julia

Ryzen 9 7900X Review AIDA64 FPU Julia

In FPU Julia the new Ryzen 9 7900X is again the fastest CPU on this graph. It’s 32% faster than the Ryzen 9 5900X and 55% faster than the Core i9-12900K.

FPU Mandel

Ryzen 9 7900X Review AIDA64 CPU FPU Mandel

In FPU Mandel the Ryzen 9 7900X is also faster, being 26% faster than the Ryzen 9 5900X. It’s also 57% faster than the Core i9-12900K.

Memory Read

Ryzen 9 7900X Review AIDA64 Memory Read

Memory read performance is better on the Ryzen 9 7900X at 74GB/s versus the Ryzen 5 7600X at 58GB/s. This is much faster than the AM4 platform, however, Alder Lake CPUs and platform still take the cake on memory bandwidth.

Memory Write

Ryzen 9 7900X Review AIDA64 Memory Write

Memory write speeds are close to Ryzen 5 7600X at 78GB/s. This is much better than the AM4 platform, but again Alder Lake still edges out with higher memory write bandwidth.

Memory Latency

Ryzen 9 7900X Review AIDA64 Memory Latency

Looking at memory latency we find that the Ryzen 9 7900X has a bit lower latency than the Ryzen 5 7600X. It has the best DDR5 memory latency performance on this graph, with the Alder Lake CPUs having a higher latency. The 7900X has latency that is very close to fast DDR4.
