SilverStone Launches CS382 Compact NAS microATX Case with Eight Hot-Swappable Drive Trays and Support for Up to 11 Drives

SilverStone has announced that the CS382 will be available for purchase through authorized retailers and distributors for $229.99 MSRP. Described by the manufacturer as being the ultimate compact NAS chassis, this is a microATX case that can fit up to 11 drives despite its smaller, 39-liter footprint, featuring eight hot-swappable trays that support 2.5″ and 3.5″ SAS-12G/SATA-6G drives. Users will also find multiple expansion slots, with support for graphics cards that measure up to 369 mm in length, although there doesn’t seem to be much in the way of sound dampening.

The heart of the CS382 lies in its ability to support Micro-ATX motherboards and ATX (PS2) power supplies, providing a seamless foundation for a variety of setups. Featuring 8 hot-swappable bays with a robust backplane, the CS382 can accommodate up to 8 x 3.5″ or 2.5″ drives in SAS-12G / SATA-6G format. These hot-swappable bays are conveniently concealed behind a secure front door with a lock, offering users added security measures to safeguard against unauthorized access, theft, and intrusion.

Maintaining optimal temperatures for high-performance drives is crucial, thus, CS382 is equipped with dual 92mm fans to ensure the drives operate efficiently. Furthermore, the chassis boasts four expansion slots, allowing users to install high-end graphics cards, network adapters, and RAID cards, making it a versatile solution for various applications.

The CS382 provides remarkable convenience with its compatibility for 240mm or 280mm liquid cooling radiators, enabling users to enjoy virtually unlimited CPU cooling choices. Additionally, an extra 9.5mm slim ODD bay sits alongside the 8 hot-swappable drive bays, allowing for the seamless reading and writing of CDs, DVDs, Blu-rays, and more. The chassis also includes removable dust filters in key areas to facilitate easy cleaning and maintenance, ensuring optimal dust prevention and extending the life of the components.
