Insomniac Games has delivered a message to Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 fans to remind them that it is working hard on some of the game’s most requested features (e.g., New Game+ mode and audio descriptions), and while it’s unclear when they may actually be released, the developer has confirmed that a new update for the PS5 exclusive is scheduled to roll out in early 2024.

Here’s the full message from Insomniac, which seems to confirm that the next update will introduce at least three new features, including the ability to replay missions as the game’s two Spider-Men, Peter Parker and Miles Morales:

Hey Web-Heads,

We have some news about the next game update for Marvel’s Spider-Man 2. We know players have been eagerly awaiting features such as New Game+ and Audio Descriptions, among many more.

We have been working vigilantly on these features and require more testing to ensure the quality is up to our standards. We are now targeting Early 2024 for the next game update, and we’ll have a feature-complete list closer to its release. We’ve heard your feedback and will be adding some highly requested features, including the ability to change the time of day, swap tendril colors, and replay missions — just to name a few!

We can’t wait to share more with you in the future. In the meantime, we appreciate your patience as our team works to finish our next update for Marvel’s Spider-Man 2!

Thanks
Insomniac Games

Insomniac Games provided a sales update for Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 last month, revealing that the game had managed to sell over 5 million copies in a tweet dated November 9—just 20 days after the game originally launched exclusively for PS5.

There’s still no word on when the PC version of Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 might be released, but Marvel’s Spider-Man Remastered for PC did not surface until August 2022, years after the original game launched for PS4 in September 2018.
