Outpost: Infinity Siege is an upcoming game for PC that will incorporate elements from many different genres. From searching for crafting resources needed for base-building or fighting monsters, co-op, and tower defense with RTS mechanics, Outpost: Infinity Siege aims to give players a from-the-ground-up experience in creating and defending their outposts. It is being published by Lightning Games and developed using Unreal Engine 5 by TeamRanger.

Description (per game page):

“Command your Mobile Outpost and take your Protoslag Gun to venture deep into the Signet surveillance off-limit area where dangers lurk in the dark. Collect incredible Weapon Units and amp up the firepower of the Outpost that fights with you. This game is about tower defense, first-person shooting, and real-time strategy all at the same time. Make the right play to eliminate powerful enemies coming from all directions. In Co-op Play, tally your companions to fight off enemies. Together, you will conquer many threats and challenges to reclaim the lands from Signet!”

From mechs to mobile infantry and bugs (starting to sound a bit like Starship Troopers), the game seems to have just about everything one would want if feeling the need to shoot or blow something up. Outpost: Infinity Siege is set to arrive for PC on Steam on March 26. Recommended PC specs are fairly modest with either an Intel i5 11600 / AMD R5-5600X processor, NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3060 / AMD Radeon RX 6600 XT graphics card, and 16 GB of system memory. The install size and pricing have not been revealed.

As a child of the 70’s I was part of the many who became enthralled by the video arcade invasion of the 1980’s. Saving money from various odd jobs I purchased my first computer from a friend of my dad, a used Atari 400, around 1982. Eventually it would end up being a lifelong passion of upgrading and modifying equipment that, of course, led into a career in IT support.
