Introduction
The NVIDIA GeForce RTX 40 Series SUPER refresh GPUs were announced at CES 2024, early this January. The GeForce RTX 40 Series SUPER series consists of three new video cards in NVIDIA’s lineup, the GeForce RTX 4080 SUPER, GeForce RTX 4070 Ti SUPER, and GeForce RTX 4070 SUPER. We detailed this launch in our NVIDIA CES 2024 Announcements article, among other things, which shows the specifications and pricing for the series, and what replaces what is in the product stack.
In this review, we will review the MSI GeForce RTX 4070 Ti SUPER 16G GAMING X TRIO WHITE retail video card, which is a non-MSRP model with a price premium that has a factory overclock, custom cooling, and white aesthetic. In MSI’s lineup, it offers several different GeForce RTX 4070 Ti SUPER models from its GAMING Series, GAMING SLIM Series, and VENTUS Series in various forms of standard clocked and factory overclocked models. 
In the GAMING Series, which we are reviewing, there are two models, a GAMING TRIO WHITE and a GAMING X TRIO WHITE. We are reviewing the GAMING X TRIO WHITE where the X denotes a factory overclock, the TRIO a triple-fan cooling design based on MSI’s TRI FROZR 3, and of course, it has a white aesthetic!  
As a reminder, the GeForce RTX 4070 Ti SUPER is based on AD103 with 66 SMs, 8,448 CUDA Cores, 66 RT Cores, 264 Tensor Cores, 264 TMUs, and 96 ROPs. It has a base clock of 2340MHz and a boost clock of 2610MHz with 48MB of L2 cache. It has 16GB of GDDR6X at 21Gbps on a 256-bit memory bus providing 672GB/s of memory bandwidth. The TGP is 285W. MSRP for the reference clocked cards is $799. 
MSI GeForce RTX 4070 Ti SUPER 16G GAMING X TRIO WHITE
The MSI GeForce RTX 4070 Ti SUPER 16G GAMING X TRIO WHITE video card is MSI’s top-end GAMING TRIO series for the GeForce RTX 4070 Ti SUPER. It has a factory overclock boost set at 2670MHz compared to the reference 2610MHz. This boost is set on both the GAMING and SILENT mode BIOS options as well. There is also a software-enabled optional Extreme Performance mode that will set the boost even higher to 2685MHz that can be enabled in MSI Center.
The notable feature of the MSI GeForce RTX 4070 Ti SUPER 16G GAMING X TRIO WHITE is the white aesthetic, even the box is white, and MSI goes one step further in the contents. Inside the box, you get a white mouse pad, a white GPU bracket, and even a custom white power adapter! The entire theme flows here, as MSI thought about everything. These little extras and perks make the whole package seem premium.
The MSI GeForce RTX 4070 Ti SUPER 16G GAMING X TRIO WHITE measures 13.2″ in length, 5.5″ inches in width, and 2.44″ inches in height. This is a large video card, and longer than other RTX 4070 Ti SUPER’s we have reviewed so far. It is thick, and you will need ample room in your case. It has 3x DisplayPort 1.4a and 1x HDMI 2.1a. It uses a 16-pin 12VHPWR connector on board, and there is a dual 8-pin PCIe adapter in the box. MSI recommends a 700W PSU and the Power Consumption is 285W. 
As you can see, the front and back is a white/silver color theme with varying shades on the backside as well. The fans are all white, but the shroud is two-toned.
The MSI GeForce RTX 4070 Ti SUPER 16G GAMING X TRIO WHITE uses the MSI TRI FROZR 3 thermal design with heat dissipation all around the video card. With Core Pipe, there are precision-machined heat pipes that make contact with the GPU. There are airflow control guides on the heatsink fins to guide the airflow disrupt unwanted airflow harmonics and reduce noise. The baseplate is nickel-plated copper. The GPU, memory, and VRMs are cooled. 
MSI TORX FAN 5.0 is used with fan blades that are linked by ring arcs to stabilize high-pressure airflow and are double-ball bearing. It also supports ZERO FROZR to stop fans when temps are low. There is a full metal backplate with thermal pads underneath that provides cooling and rigidity and also has a flow-through ventilation system. There is a die-cast anti-bending plate on the card that also has thermal pads to allow cooling to reach critical components underneath.
The MSI GeForce RTX 4070 Ti SUPER 16G GAMING X TRIO WHITE also has a dual-BIOS to set between GAMING mode or a low noise SILENT mode. The video card also uses high-efficiency carbonyl Inductors, DrMOS power stage solutions, plenty of clay-based thermal pads, and additional fuses built into the PCB.
