Gameplay Performance 1080p

On this page, we are going to focus on the 1080p gameplay performance with the XFX Speedster QICK 309 Radeon RX 7600 XT Black video card.  We will include DLSS and FSR performance on the same graph in the games that are supported.  We will use DLSS on NVIDIA GPUs and FSR on AMD GPUs.  Ray Tracing performance will be shown on a separate page.

Alan Wake 2

Alan Wake 2 was launched on the PC in October of 2023 and is based on the Northlight Engine. The game supports detailed graphics and ray tracing with path tracing support. This game defaults to DLSS or FSR but does allow Native AA resolution settings with DLSS or FSR respectively. We can utilize Super Sampling upscaling, and for our graphs, we will just call that DLSS or FSR. We utilize the graphics presets to set High quality, as well as the Ray Tracing presets to set Low or High quality. We use a manual run-through in the Initiation 5: Room 665 chapter.

XFX Speedster QICK 309 Radeon RX 7600 XT Black Edition Alan Wake 2 1080p

At 1080p in Alan Wake 2 the XFX Speedster QICK 309 Radeon RX 7600 XT Black is very playable without upscaling, it is 11% faster than the Radeon RX 7600 and RTX 4060. Overclocking it improves performance by 8%.

Starfield

Starfield was released on the PC in September of 2023 and is based on the Creation Engine 2. This game supports DLSS and FSR as well as Dynamic Resolution. When using upscaling, Dynamic Resolution is enabled, and we utilize the 75% slider option, which is the default setting when Ultra settings are applied. We are using the highest Ultra settings in the game for all testing, and for upscaling, we use the highest quality settings. We use a manual run-through in the New Atlantis area encompassing all areas.

XFX Speedster QICK 309 Radeon RX 7600 XT Black Edition Starfield 1080p

Starfield is now very playable near 60FPS without upscaling, we find the XFX Speedster QICK 309 Radeon RX 7600 XT Black to be 14% faster than the Radeon RX 7600, again a good amount that is noticeable. Overclocking it improves performance by 7%.

Returnal

Returnal was launched on the PC in February of 2023 and is based on Unreal Engine 4. The game supports real-time ray tracing effects, particle systems, and volumetric rendering. We utilize the graphics preset to set EPIC graphics settings with unlocked framerate, and everything is enabled except ray tracing, we have screen-space reflections on. We use the built-in benchmark.

XFX Speedster QICK 309 Radeon RX 7600 XT Black Edition Returnal 1080p

The XFX Speedster QICK 309 Radeon RX 7600 XT Black is only 3% faster than the Radeon RX 7600 here, but the RTX 4060 does beat it by 4%. Once we overclock it, that changes, and performance goes up 7%.

Forspoken

Forspoken was released on January 24th, 2023, on the PC and uses the Luminous Engine. The game supports all upscaling methods and Ray Tracing. We are going to customize the settings and enable the highest graphics settings, including Ultra High Texture Memory. We use the built-in benchmark.

XFX Speedster QICK 309 Radeon RX 7600 XT Black Edition Forspoken 1080p

Just like we experienced at 1440p, in Forspoken the XFX Speedster QICK 309 Radeon RX 7600 XT Black is 37% faster than the Radeon RX 7600. We can’t assume this is due to the VRAM, not at 1080p, but you never know? If it were VRAM, the RTX 4060 would also be crippled, and it isn’t. We just can’t say for sure why the XFX Speedster QICK 309 Radeon RX 7600 XT Black is so much faster than the Radeon RX 7600 in this game, so right now we’ll leave this game as an outlier, possibly due to driver changes, but also possible VRAM.

Chernobylite Enhanced Edition

Chernobylite, based on Unreal Engine 4, was released on the PC in 2021, but the Enhanced Edition update for the game was released in April 2022. The Enhanced Edition provides a visual overhaul of the game with better textures, plus introduces tessellation and ray tracing features. It features raytraced reflections, raytraced translucency, raytraced caustics, and raytraced dynamic diffuse global illumination. It supports upscaling, and we use the highest quality. We use the built-in benchmark.

Here the XFX Speedster QICK 309 Radeon RX 7600 XT Black is only 3% faster than the Radeon RX 7600, and the RTX 4060 is the fastest GPU in this game. Overclocking improves performance by 7%.

Dying Light 2

Dying Light 2 was released in February 2022 on the PC and uses Techland’s C-Engine.  The game supports Ray Tracing, DLSS, and FSR2.  We use the built-in preset to set “HIGH QUALITY” which sets the highest game graphics, without Ray Tracing.  We manually enable DX12 and ASYNC Compute.  We use the built-in benchmark.

XFX Speedster QICK 309 Radeon RX 7600 XT Black Edition Dying Light 2 1080p

In Dying Light 2 the XFX Speedster QICK 309 Radeon RX 7600 XT Black is just 6% faster than the Radeon RX 7600 and is faster than the RTX 4060. Overclocking it improves performance by 6%.

Cyberpunk 2077

Cyberpunk 2077 was released in December 2020 and uses the REDengine 4. We have the game patched to version 2.0 and utilize the built-in benchmark. We test using the Graphics Preset option to set graphics settings to “Ultra”.  We utilize the highest quality upscaling.

XFX Speedster QICK 309 Radeon RX 7600 XT Black Edition Cyberpunk 2077 1080p

Here the XFX Speedster QICK 309 Radeon RX 7600 XT Black is 10% faster than the Radeon RX 7600, and RTX 4060. Overclocking it improves performance by 7%.

SUMMARY

We reviewed the XFX Speedster QICK 309 Radeon RX 7600 XT Black Edition Video Card, a 16GB video card for $349. It performs very well, exceeding the Radeon RX 7600 and GeForce RTX 4060 in performance, with a lot of headroom for gaming in 2024-2025 and beyond. It's not the most power efficient video card, but makes up for it in its cooling performance and overclocking ability. The price value is actually very good since you are getting 16GB of VRAM at a $350 price-point, something that is unheard of in today's market, but extremely welcomed.
