Introduction
The AMD Radeon RX 7600 XT was announced at CES 2024, early this January. The Radeon RX 7600 XT sits between the Radeon RX 7600 and Radeon RX 7700 XT on pricing, but comes closer in spec to the Radeon RX 7600, except in one major way, it doubles the VRAM. We detailed this launch in our AMD CES 2024 Announcements article, among other things, which shows the specifications and pricing for the Radeon RX 7600 XT, and where it sits in the product stack.
Therefore, we know that the AMD Radeon RX 7600 XT does not replace any GPUs in AMD’s lineup, it is a new addition, sitting just on top of the Radeon RX 7600. The new AMD Radeon RX 7600 XT features a higher boosted clock speed and 16GB of VRAM for an MSRP of $329. This will make the Radeon RX 7600 XT the cheapest video card with 16GB of VRAM yet for gamers and content creation enthusiasts. We will go over the specifications below, in a small table, since pretty much all the specs between the Radeon RX 7600 and Radeon RX 7600 XT lineup except for clock speed, VRAM, and board power.
In today’s review, we will be taking a look at a full retail custom add-in-board partner video card, the XFX Speedster QICK 309 Radeon RX 7600 XT Black Edition (RX-76TQICKBP) which retails for $349.99. As we learned, the Radeon RX 7600 XT is a partner-only video card, there won’t be a made-by-AMD video card this time. Therefore, partners will have varying models available, some with factory overclocks, and many with custom cooling solutions and designs.
The XFX Speedster QICK 309 RX 7600 XT Black we are reviewing today does have a factory overclock, and a robust triple-fan cooling solution with overclocking ability, hence the price premium. The full name of the video card is XFX SPEEDSTER QICK309 RADEON RX 7600XT BLACK Gaming Graphics Card with 16GB GDDR6 HDMI 3xDP, AMD RDNA 3 or you can call it XFX SPEEDSTER QICK309 RADEON RX 7600XT for short while the model number is RX-76TQICKBP.

The basic gist of the Radeon RX 7600 XT is that it has a game clock boost of just about 10% and a boost clock boost of just about 4% over the Radeon RX 7600. It also has double the VRAM at 16GB instead of 8GB on the Radeon RX 7600, but the memory bus width bandwidth and clock speed remain the same. The board power also gets a 15% boost in power, allowing for the higher clock speeds more consistently, and the power needed for the extra memory as well. Those are the only changes, so you can think of it as a highly overclocked Radeon RX 7600 with double the VRAM. We will have to see how this plays out in our benchmarks today, and how much headroom the Radeon RX 7600 XT can further be clocked.
XFX Speedster QICK 309 Radeon RX 7600 XT Black Edition
In XFX’s lineup of video cards, the QICK denotes its Quicksilver line, which are high-performance designs for mainstream gamers looking for performance, speed, and stability. These models have many of the features of the top-of-the-line MERC series but lack some of the flair, bells, and whistles to make that performance more affordable. For example, the QICK 7600 XT we have today, does not have RGB or lighting of any kind but still has a high factory overclock and great cooling. The “309” is actually meaningful, and denotes the use of the triple-fan cooling solution.
The XFX Speedster QICK 309 Radeon RX 7600 XT Black has a factory overclock, it operates with a game clock of 2539MHz and a boost clock of up to 2810MHz. This gives it a 3% higher game clock compared to the AMD reference spec and a 2% higher boost clock compared to the reference spec. Remember, the Radeon RX 7600 XT is a highly clocked Radeon RX 7600 already, and this XFX Speedster QICK 309 RX 7600 XT Black model takes that clock even higher with this factory overclock. We can’t wait to see if there is any headroom left actually for overclocking, you just might be surprised. This is a $349.99 video card, so it does have a price premium over the reference $329 pricing.
The XFX Speedster QICK 309 RX 7600 XT Black measures 11.89″ inches in length, 4.49″ inches in width, and 1.97″ inches in height, it is a 2.5-slot video card. It requires 2x 8-pin PCIe power connectors. The XFX Speedster QICK 309 RX 7600 XT Black has a full digital PWM featuring 6+2 phase power delivery and the BIOS Is tuned for an additional 15W over reference specification. This can provide at least 44MHz additional boost clock speed. The TGP is quoted at 165W for this video card, which is different from the board power, which can run around 190-200W under a maximum load.
XFX’s cooling solution uses 3x 90mm 13-blade fans with fan stop ability below 50c. The nickel-plated solid copper cold plate makes contact with the GPU and sends heat to 4x 6mm heatpipes. Memory is cooled with an aluminum cooling plate. XFX uses thermal pads throughout, for VRMs, memory, and GPU, and the backplate as well. The XFX Speedster QICK 309 RX 7600 XT Black has a dual BIOS on board, and a switch, currently both BIOSs are the same, but this does give you options or a backup BIOS. The video card also features an air passthrough on the end and a full backplate.
The XFX Speedster QICK 309 RX 7600 XT Black does not have any RGB or lighting, instead, it has a nice black edition look with white lettering.
