Power & Temperature
On this page, we are going to explore power and temperature. We will do full-load testing in Cinebench 2026 for Multi-Core power and temperature. All of our data has been captured with HWiNFO64.
CPU Power
This is where we can see the power differences between each CPU, and the AMD Ryzen 7 9700X appears more efficient, since it is offering slightly better performance, but at a much lower power than the Ryzen 7 7700X and pulling the same Wattage as the Ryzen 7 7700. The AMD Ryzen 7 9700X uses 36% less power than the Ryzen 7 7700X, which is pretty significant. The Ryzen 7 9700X pulls close to the same Wattage as the Ryzen 7 7700, but gives us performance above the Ryzen 7 7700X in everything, synthetic and gaming. One cannot underestimate the efficiency that the Ryzen 7 9700X is offering.
Temperature
This power efficiency is also reflected in the temperatures. Where the Ryzen 7 7700X can reach into the 90’s in temp, the Ryzen 7 9700X stays much cooler, in the low 60s Celsius. It is actually even cooler than the Ryzen 7 7700. That means less robust or expensive cooling is needed in smaller spaces.
