Gaming Performance (Ho-St)
In our game performance testing, we are utilizing an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5090 FE video card. We are running each game at 1080p, Native Resolution, and we are using mostly the highest game settings. We are using manual in-game run-throughs for each game and reporting the average FPS and 1% Lows. It is important to note the 1% Lows in many instances, especially in those where the AVG is close; the 1% Lows may not be. All games are running the latest versions. All graphs are organized from fastest to slowest.
Hogwarts Legacy

Hogwarts Legacy is another game that drastically shows the difference between X3D CPUs and non-X3D CPUs. In this game, our manual run-through is in a town with a lot of NPCs, and you can really see the difference the CPU makes. With 1% Lows already this low, you really need every bit in this game to bring those 1% Lows up. The AMD Ryzen 9 9900X3D is a WHOPPING 32% faster in average FPS compared to the Ryzen 9 9900X and 32% faster in 1% Lows!!! This is a major, major, major difference in this game. The Ryzen 9 9950X3D is 35% faster than the Ryzen 9 9950X in average FPS and 33% faster in 1% Lows. The Ryzen 9 9950X3D is 5% faster than the Ryzen 9 9900X3D in average FPS and the same in 1% Lows. The Ryzen 9 9900X isn’t held back as much here, with the Ryzen 9 9950X only slightly faster on average, but not by much.
Horizon Forbidden West

In Horizon Forbidden West, we have changed up our run-through to perform it within a settlement, with a lot of NPCs and activity around. This highlights the CPU usage much more and the differences in CPU performance for this game. We can now see the benefit of the X3D CPUs over the non-X3D CPUs. The Ryzen 9 9900X3D is 16% faster than the Ryzen 9 9900X in average FPS and 11% faster in 1% Lows. The Ryzen 9 9950X3D is 18% faster than the Ryzen 9 9950X in average FPS and 11% faster in 1% Lows. The Ryzen 9 9950X3D is 3% faster than the Ryzen 9 9900X3D in average FPS, and 1% Low performance is close.
Kingdom Come: Deliverance II

In Kingdom Come: Deliverance II, we find that X3D CPUs help in this game as well; part of that reason is the Ray Tracing calculations done in software, which the CPU really helps accelerate. The Ryzen 9 9900X3D is 11% faster than the Ryzen 9 9900X in average FPS and 10% faster in 1% Lows. The Ryzen 9 9950X3D is 10% faster than the Ryzen 9 9950X in average FPS and 9% faster in 1% Lows. The Ryzen 9 9900X3D and Ryzen 9 9950X3D have exactly the same performance in this game.
Resident Evil Requiem

In Resident Evil Requiem, we find the X3D CPUs also improve performance by a good degree over the non-X3D CPUs. The AMD Ryzen 9 9900X3D is 21% faster than the Ryzen 9 9900X in average FPS and 20% faster in 1% Lows. The Ryzen 9 9950X3D is 16% faster than the Ryzen 9 9950X in average FPS and 12% faster in 1% Lows. The Ryzen 9 9950X3D breaks the 300FPS barrier in this game, WOW. The Ryzen 9 9950X3D is 2% faster than the Ryzen 9 9900X3D in average FPS and 2% faster in 1% Lows. The Ryzen 9 9900X has a performance deficit in this game. The Ryzen 9 9950X is 6% faster than the Ryzen 9 9900X.
S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2: Heart of Chornobyl

Note that we are using the newest patch of Stalker 2, which upgrades the Unreal Engine version to 5.5.4. In Stalker 2, our manual run-through is in a town, with NPCs everywhere, and we can see the difference X3D CPUs make over non-X3D CPUs. The Ryzen 9 9900X3D is 10% faster than the Ryzen 9 9900X in average FPS and 12% faster in 1% Lows. The Ryzen 9 9950X3D is 12% faster than the Ryzen 9 9950X in average FPS. The Ryzen 9 9950X3D is about 2% faster than the Ryzen 9 9900X3D in average FPS.
