Power & Temperature
On this page, we are going to explore power and temperature. We will do full-load testing in Cinebench 2026 for Multi-Core power and temperature. We will also do gaming-specific power and temperature by playing Cyberpunk 2077. All of our data has been captured with HWiNFO64.
CPU Power Full-Load

The AMD Ryzen 9 9950X3D does consume more Wattage when running full-load, all-cores, at 200W; it is hitting its PPT and is 38W higher, or 23% more, than the Ryzen 9 9900X3D in power.
CPU Power Gaming

When just gaming, though, the CPUs use much less power. In this scenario, the AMD Ryzen 9 9900X3D is more efficient and uses 22W less power, or 13%.
CPU Temperature Full-Load

When running full-load, all-cores, the AMD Ryzen 9 9950X3D does run the hottest, near 80c, which is about 8 degrees warmer than the Ryzen 9 9900X3D. Overall, this isn’t a very hot temperature really, and both can run well under a 360mm AIO.
CPU Temperature Gaming

When gaming, the AMD Ryzen 9 9950X3D runs cooler at 75c, but the Ryzen 9 9900X3D actually heated up more at near 79c. That extra 3D V-Cache must be adding to the overall temperature when utilized here, whereas it is more spread out on the Ryzen 9 9950X3D.
