Valve has updated its brand guidelines, and with it comes the introduction of “Powered by SteamOS”: a new logo and brand destined for future hardware devices that will not only run, but boot directly into SteamOS—the Linux distribution from Valve that is known by many as being the primary operating system for the Steam Deck, its portable handheld that remains available starting at $399.99. See below for the official description from Valve and the two logos that the company designed, which include positive and inverse versions for expanding the SteamOS brand. (SteamOS was initially released over a decade ago, in December 2013.)
The Powered by SteamOS logo indicates that a hardware device will run the SteamOS and boot into SteamOS upon powering on the device. Partners / manufacturers will ship hardware with a Steam image in the form provided by and /or developed in close collaboration with Valve. Physical alterations should not be made to the logo and it should not be combined with any other branding elements.
