There were roughly 50 games announced at this year’s The Game Awards, and while we won’t explore all of what was announced, here are some highlights for 2026.
Tomb Raider: Legacy of Atlantis Remake and Tomb Raider: Catalyst
Crystal Dynamics and Flying Wild Hog announced they are working on two Tomb Raider games. First is a remake of Tomb Raider: Legacy of Atlantis set to launch in 2026, and then its sequel, Tomb Raider: Catalyst, which is planned to arrive in 2027. Scott Amos, studio head at Crystal Dynamics, told VGC the following regarding the upcoming games.
“Tomb Raider: Legacy of Atlantis is a love letter by fans, all of us, for fans. Looking at the opportunity we had with this, we knew the 30th anniversary was coming up and wanted to do something special to both celebrate that moment, but still pay an honor to all of Core Design’s original DNA and intent from this amazing title that launched the franchise.”

Control Resonant
Remedy Entertainment announced another addition to its Control universe with Control Resonant. This time around, players will take on the role of Dylan Faden, brother of Jesse Faden from the first game. Set in Manhattan, events further unfold with Dylan battling his own fears and cosmic forces. Control Resonant is planned to launch in 2026.
“Players will traverse perception-bending locations and journey beyond the material world into a mysterious metaphysical space reflecting Dylan Faden’s troubled psyche. Tap into power that Dylan must learn to master and make choices to shape abilities that manifest and grow while exploring a deep progression system.”

Star Wars: Galactic Racer is planned for a 2026 release.

Star Wars: Fate of the Old Republic was announced, and is tentatively expected to arrive by 2030. It is helmed by Casey Hudson, who was also the director of the original Knights of the Old Republic game.
