ASUS ROG STRIX GeForce GTX 1650 O4G GAMING

ASUS makes three different variants based on the GeForce GTX 1650.  There is the ASUS ROG STRIX GTX 1650 4G GAMING then there is the ASUS ROG STRIX GTX 1650 A4G GAMING then there is the ASUS ROG STRIX GTX 1650 O4G GAMING.  The latter is what we have to review today.  The ASUS ROG STRIX GTX 1650 O4G GAMING has the highest factory overclock and offers the most at $179.99.  This is ASUS’s best foot forward on the GTX 1650.

The default GAMING GPU Boost is 1830MHz on this video card.  For comparison, the default GPU Boost on a reference GeForce GTX 1650 specification is 1665MHz.  That is a very healthy GPU Boost improvement from the ASUS video card out-of-the-box without any tweaking.

In addition, because of the robust cooling solution, NVIDIA GPU Boost should run that clock speed even higher, well beyond the boost clock.  We, therefore, are most likely going to experience a very high default clock speed on this video card that provides a lot more performance than a reference spec GTX 1650.

Cooling

The fan shroud has two large fans to keep the heatsink cool.  This uses ASUS Wing-blade fan design.  This adds drooped tips to each fan blade to reduce drag.  The fans support 0dB technology to keep them off below 55 degrees Celsius.  The fans are IP5X dust resistant.

ASUS DirectCU II heatsink design is being used on this video card.  There are two large heatpipes that extend to both ends of the heatsink.  The copper heatpipes make direct contact with the die.

ASUS has completely customized the PCB design on this video card.  It uses ASUS Super Alloy Power II premium power components.  This video card also benefits from ASUS precision automated manufacturing.  All soldering is completed in a single pass.

Custom PCB

Because this is a custom PCB with custom power delivery this video card also supports extra power via a 6-pin power connector.  In this way, the video card is geared toward overclockers.  There is also a full protective backplate in place to add structural rigidity.  ASUS FanConnect II is also supported.  There is some RGB lighting onboard supported by ASUS Aura Sync.  There is even a button on the back to disable the lighting if you wish.

Plenty of connectivity is supported with two HDMI outputs and two DisplayPorts.  The recommended PSU is 300W.  The video card is small and measures 9.52” in length, 5” in width and 1.51” in height.  It will easily fit in two slots, no extra space needed.
