Cyberpunk 2077 has been delayed not once, not twice, but three times already, so it’s understandable why there are rumors going around about additional delays that could push the highly anticipated sci-fi RPG to 2021.

Could the game really be delayed a fourth time? A new statement received by IGN has given us some reassurance that the game will be out before the new year.

“As a rule, we don’t comment on rumors or speculation,” a CD PROJEKT RED rep told IGN in response to an inquiry regarding the likelihood of another delay. “But I will confirm we were just taking time to update all of our assets to reflect the new launch date of December 10th.”

This seems like positive news, particularly for those us who have been waiting to play the game for years. The idea of Cyberpunk 2077 being delayed again actually seems peculiar to begin with, being that CD PROJEKT RED is probably working in overdrive to get the game out before Christmas.

Skeptics have raised an interesting point, though, in that CD PROJEKT RED has been caught making promises that it couldn’t keep. Some gamers who took vacation days off in advance were furious when they learned that Cyberpunk 2077 would not be coming out in November despite being told otherwise by social media staff.

That said, we have a good feeling that everyone will be able to adventure into Night City this holiday. According to some reports, CD PROJEKT RED is pretty much done with the PC and next-gen versions of the game – it’s just the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One versions that are holding things up.
