UHD Graphics 750 Performance Continued
Far Cry 5
Far Cry 5 is a lot newer than Grand Theft Auto V, though it is aging now, as it was released in early 2018. The game generally performs with very high framerates on current dedicated GPUs. However, it struggles a great deal with integrated graphics as we can see. At 720p with the lowest in-game settings, literally, the Intel UHD Graphics 630 cannot keep up. However, the new Intel UHD Graphics 750 improves by an impressive 72% in performance and gives us 30FPS at 720p with the lowest settings.
We wanted to bump the image quality up a little bit in Far Cry 5 at 720p to see if the Intel UHD 750 can hang in there with playable performance. At 720p here we have bumped up the quality settings by one notch to the “Normal” preset. The Intel UHD Graphics 750 still maintains a close to 30FPS performance level, which could be playable. It certainly is compared to the Intel UHD 630, it’s 75% faster! That’s a huge percentage difference.
Feeling good with ourselves we bumped up the resolution to 1080p and turned the game settings back down to the lowest quality level. Well, this is where the Intel UHD 750 gives up, 1080p is a huge burden for it and it just can’t make it even with the game at the lowest possible settings. At least it retains its performance lead, here 60% faster than the UHD 630.
Shadow of the Tomb Raider
Next up is the game Shadow of the Tomb Raider which came out in late 2018. For this game, we do have DX12 enabled as well as SMAA. Otherwise, we used the graphics preset option to select the “Lowest” graphic quality option here at 720p. The Intel UHD Graphics 630 does pretty poorly, while the new Intel UHD Graphics 750 does a lot better but still under 30FPS. It is 53% faster. This is pretty much the lowest game setting, at 720p, and it can’t even push that at playable levels.
We tried 1080p just for the fun of it, and well as expected 1080p is a huge no-go.
