Ray Tracing Performance
We are now going to see how Ray Tracing affects performance on both video cards. We want to see how demanding it is at 1440p and 4K on both video cards, and which one is faster or has less of a drop in performance, enabling Ray Tracing.
AMD Radeon RX 6900 XT
On the Radeon RX 6900 XT at 1440p turning on Ray Tracing drops performance by 10%.
At 4K on the Radeon RX 6900 XT turning on Ray Tracing drops performance by 17%.
GeForce RTX 3090
At 1440p on the GIGABYTE RTX 3090 turning on Ray Tracing drops performance by 7%. This is less of a drop in performance than the Radeon RX 6900 XT.
At 4K on the GIGABYTE RTX 3090 turning on Ray Tracing drops performance by 11%. This is a lot less of a drop in performance compared to the Radeon RX 6900 XT enabling Ray Tracing.
