FSR and Ray Tracing Comparison
We are now going to directly compare the AMD Radeon RX 6900 XT and GIGABYTE GeForce RTX 3090 GAMING OC to each other. In the graphs below we have all the quality levels of FSR being shown comparing the cards to each other, first without Ray Tracing, and then with Ray Tracing, at 1440p and 4K.
1440p
In the graph above we are looking at 1440p, and we have each FSR quality setting compared with each video card. Consistently we see that the GeForce RTX 3090 is faster at every FSR level compared to the Radeon RX 6900 XT. In Ultra Quality FSR the RTX 3090 is 10% faster than the RX 6900 XT. In Quality FSR the RTX 3090 is 10% faster than the RX 6900 XT. In Balanced FSR the RTX 3090 is 23% faster than the RX 6900 XT. In Performance FSR the RTX 3090 is 32% faster than the RX 6900 XT.
Now we have Ray Tracing turned on at 1440p in the above graph. The RTX 3090 in Ultra Quality FSR is 17% faster than the RX 6900 XT. In Quality FSR the RTX 3090 is 11% faster than the RX 6900 XT. In Balanced FSR the RTX 3090 is 15% faster than the RX 6900 XT. In Performance FSR the RTX 3090 is 15% faster than the RX 6900 XT.
4K
In the above graph, we are looking at 4K performance. The RTX 3090 in Ultra Quality FSR is 8% faster than the RX 6900 XT. In Quality FSR the RTX 3090 is 8% faster than the RX 6900 XT. In Balanced FSR the RTX 3090 is 11% faster than the RX 6900 XT. In Performance FSR the RTX 3090 is 13% faster than the RX 6900 XT.
In the above graph, we have now turned on Ray Tracing at 4K. In Ultra Quality FSR the RTX 3090 is 15% faster than the RX 6900 XT. In Quality FSR the RTX 3090 is 14% faster than the RX 6900 XT. In Balanced FSR the RTX 3090 is 18% faster than the RX 6900 XT. In Performance FSR the RTX 3090 is 15% faster than the RX 6900 XT.
