1440p Gaming Performance
To start the bidding today, we will look at the 1440p performance of the ZOTAC GAMING GeForce RTX 3070 AMP Holo LHR video card in an assortment of games. All of the games are running at the highest quality selections available sans Ray Tracing and DLSS which we will look at separately. For each game, we are using the game benchmark included with the game and reporting the average frames per second.
Far Cry 6
In Far Cry 6, the ZOTAC GAMING GeForce RTX 3070 AMP Holo LHR turned in a performance of 94 FPS but was bested by the AMD Radeon RX 6800’s 100 FPS. Both turned in a fantastic overall experience. Overclocking the ZOTAC GAMING GeForce RTX 3070 AMP Holo LHR pushed an extra 3 FPS into the equation for a 3.2% performance boost.
Cyberpunk 2077
In Cyberpunk 2077, we are using the Ultra quality presets without modifications. We are performing a manual run through of a set driving route through the city and averaging our results over multiple runs.
The ZOTAC GAMING GeForce RTX 3070 AMP Holo LHR turned in a performance of 47.4 FPS which trailed the AMD Radeon RX 6800 by 7.6 FPS or 16%. Overclocking the ZOTAC GAMING GeForce RTX 3070 AMP Holo LHR boosted performance to by 5.9% to 50.2 FPS.
Horizon Zero Dawn
In Horizon Zero Dawn the ZOTAC GAMING GeForce RTX 3070 AMP Holo LHR averaged 108 FPS just a few frames behind the AMD Radeon RX 6800 at 117 FPS. Overclocking the ZOTAC GAMING GeForce RTX 3070 AMP Holo LHR increased performance by 3.7% but this was still 5 FPS short of the RX 6800. With all cards turning in scores over 100 FPS, they’re all great choices for Horizon Zero Dawn.
Red Dead Redemption 2
In Red Dead Redemption 2, the ZOTAC GAMING GeForce RTX 3070 AMP Holo LHR rang up 64.9 FPS compared to the 74 FPS of the AMD Radeon RX 6800. Overclocking the ZOTAC GAMING GeForce RTX 3070 AMP Holo LHR edged it closer at 69.6 FPS for a 7.2% improvement, but did not move up in the rankings.
Metro Exodus
In Metro Exodus, the ZOTAC GAMING GeForce RTX 3070 AMP Holo LHR pulled 60.7 FPS out of its hat, coming up short of the AMD Radeon 6800’s 62.6 hats. Overclocking the ZOTAC GAMING GeForce RTX 3070 AMP Holo LHR produced 65.4 FPS to boost it to the top of the rankings.
Shadow of the Tomb Raider
In Shadow of the Tomb Raider, because all of the cards performed so well, we went ahead and turned on Ray Tracing for testing at 1440p. The ZOTAC GAMING GeForce RTX 3070 AMP Holo LHR jumped to the front of the line with 74 FPS. The AMD Radeon RX 6800 turned in 70 FPS. Overclocking the ZOTAC GAMING GeForce RTX 3070 AMP Holo LHR increased its lead over the others by 6.8% or by an additional 5 FPS.
Dirt 5
In Dirt 5, the ZOTAC GAMING GeForce RTX 3070 AMP Holo LHR turned in a caboose tally of 103 FPS, falling 10.5% behind the AMD RX 6800’s 113.8 FPS. Overclocking the ZOTAC GAMING GeForce RTX 3070 AMP Holo LHR provided a 5.2% boost but still left it at the back of the pack.
