4K Gaming Performance
Next up, we’ll place all the chips in the middle of the table and see how the ZOTAC GAMING GeForce RTX 3070 AMP Holo LHR performs at the 4K resolution. All of the games are running at the highest quality selections available sans Ray Tracing and DLSS which we will look at separately. For each game, we are using the game benchmark included with the game and reporting the average frames per second.
Far Cry 6
In Far Cry 6, the ZOTAC GAMING GeForce RTX 3070 AMP Holo LHR turned in a performance of 58 FPS which was 7 FPS (or 12%) slower than the AMD Radeon RX 6800. Overclocking the ZOTAC GAMING GeForce RTX 3070 AMP Holo LHR boosted performance by 5 FPS or 8.6%.
Cyberpunk 2077
In Cyberpunk 2077, the ZOTAC GAMING GeForce RTX 3070 AMP Holo LHR turned in 21 FPS across the manual run through. This does not represent a good playing experience at all which is consistent with the AMD Radeon RX 6800’s 22.7 FPS. Overclocking the ZOTAC GAMING GeForce RTX 3070 AMP Holo LHR bumped up the FPS to 23.2 which was not enough to make a difference other than jumping above the RX 6800 in the charts.
Friends should not let friends play Cyberpunk maxed out at 4k with these cards.
Horizon Zero Dawn
In Horizon Zero Dawn, the ZOTAC GAMING GeForce RTX 3070 AMP Holo LHR achieved 63 FPS which was two hairs under the AMD Radeon RX 6800 at 66 FPS. Overclocking the ZOTAC GAMING GeForce RTX 3070 AMP Holo LHR added a shaved hair to its performance to put it on top with 69 FPS (a 9.5% increase).
Red Dead Redemption 2
In Red Dead Redemption 2, the ZOTAC GAMING GeForce RTX 3070 AMP Holo LHR chalked up 43.3 FPS which was behind the AMD Radeon RX 6800 at 47.9 FPS. Overclocking the ZOTAC GAMING GeForce RTX 3070 AMP Holo LHR bumped it up to 47 FPS but still left it at the back of the pack. Based on the performance observed, we would not suggest maxing out image quality on any of these cards at 4K to play Red Dead.
Metro Exodus
In Metro Exodus, the ZOTAC GAMING GeForce RTX 3070 AMP Holo LHR delivered 41.4 FPS which was below the 43.1 FPS that the AMD Radeon RX 6800 turned in. Overclocking the ZOTAC GAMING GeForce RTX 3070 AMP Holo LHR moved it to the top of the pile at 44.9 FPS. Regardless, this is not a game you’ll want to play at 4K with any of these cards.
Shadow of the Tomb Raider
In Shadow of the Tomb Raider, the ZOTAC GAMING GeForce RTX 3070 AMP Holo LHR flipped through 62 frames per second which flopped compared to the the AMD Radeon RX 6800 which provided 72 flips. Overclocking the ZOTAC GAMING GeForce RTX 3070 AMP Holo LHR increased its performance to 64 FPS but was still unable to out flip the competition.
Dirt 5
In Dirt 5, the ZOTAC GAMING GeForce RTX 3070 AMP Holo LHR achieved performance of 66 FPS which was 7.8 FPS lower than the AMD RX 6800’s efforts. Overclocking the ZOTAC GAMING GeForce RTX 3070 AMP Holo LHR provided an additional 4.6 FPS or a 7% boost to performance.
