Cyberpunk 2077 2.0 Ray Tracing Ultra to Overdrive Performance with DLSS and RR
In the graphs below, we are going to look at what going from Ray Tracing: Ultra (standard Ray Tracing) with DLSS Super Resolution enabled at “Auto” looks like compared to Ray Tracing: Overdrive also with DLSS Super Resolution at “Auto” and Ray Reconstruction enabled, and then finally all of that but with Frame Generation enabled. This will tell us if we can get Ray Tracing: Overdrive to perform similarly to standard Ray Tracing when DLSS Super Resolution with Ray Construction is enabled. We will be using the built-in benchmark for testing performance.
Video Cards included are NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4060 Founders Edition, NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4060 Ti 8GB Founders Edition, NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4070 Founders Edition, ASUS TUF Gaming GeForce RTX 4070 Ti 12GB OC Edition, NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4080 Founders Edition and NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4090 Founders Edition. We will test each one at different resolutions, as is appropriate for the video card, RTX 4060/4060 Ti at 1080p, 4070/4070 Ti at 1440p, and RTX 4080/4090 at 4K.
The NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4060 starts off at 63.7FPS using Ray Tracing Ultra and DLSS. When we turn on Ray Tracing Overdrive, even with DLSS and Ray Reconstruction the drop is 40%. However, look what happens when we add DLSS 3 Frame Generation on top of RT Overdrive and Ray Reconstruction, performance jumps up 76% and now the game performance climbs over what it was with standard Ray Tracing and just DLSS Super Resolution enabled.
The NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4060 Ti 8GB starts off at 81.3FPS using Ray Tracing Ultra and DLSS. When we turn on Ray Tracing Overdrive, even with DLSS and Ray Reconstruction the drop is 36%. However, look what happens when we add DLSS 3 Frame Generation on top of RT Overdrive and Ray Reconstruction, performance jumps up 65% and now the game performance climbs over what it was with standard Ray Tracing and just DLSS Super Resolution enabled.
The NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4070 starts off at 80.3FPS using Ray Tracing Ultra and DLSS. When we turn on Ray Tracing Overdrive, even with DLSS and Ray Reconstruction the drop is 34%. However, look what happens when we add DLSS 3 Frame Generation on top of RT Overdrive and Ray Reconstruction, performance jumps up 63% and now the game performance climbs over what it was with standard Ray Tracing and just DLSS Super Resolution enabled.
The NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4070 Ti starts off at 100.8FPS using Ray Tracing Ultra and DLSS. When we turn on Ray Tracing Overdrive, even with DLSS and Ray Reconstruction the drop is 33%. However, look what happens when we add DLSS 3 Frame Generation on top of RT Overdrive and Ray Reconstruction, performance jumps up 61% and now the game performance climbs over what it was with standard Ray Tracing and just DLSS Super Resolution enabled.
The NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4080 starts off at 81FPS using Ray Tracing Ultra and DLSS. When we turn on Ray Tracing Overdrive, even with DLSS and Ray Reconstruction the drop is 33%. However, look what happens when we add DLSS 3 Frame Generation on top of RT Overdrive and Ray Reconstruction, performance jumps up 56% and now the game performance climbs over what it was with standard Ray Tracing and just DLSS Super Resolution enabled.
The NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4090 starts off at 107.2FPS using Ray Tracing Ultra and DLSS. When we turn on Ray Tracing Overdrive, even with DLSS and Ray Reconstruction the drop is 30%. However, look what happens when we add DLSS 3 Frame Generation on top of RT Overdrive and Ray Reconstruction, performance jumps up 52% and now the game performance climbs over what it was with standard Ray Tracing and just DLSS Super Resolution enabled.
