Halk Hogan, the modder behind The Witcher 3 HD Reworked Project, has released Cyberpunk 2077 HD Reworked Project 2.0, an improved version of the mod that he originally released in March this year to boost the visuals in CD PROJEKT RED’s now-celebrated open-world RPG even further. The new mod, which is available to download from NexusMods in various quality options, including Ultra Quality packages that weigh in at over 1 GB, effectively puts many of CDPR’s original assets to shame, according to comparison images that show how the modder has transformed ground textures and other assets from what looks relatively like digital puke to something more realistic. According to Hogan, who shouldn’t be confused with the other guy, this mod shouldn’t affect performance in any way for those with the proper amount of VRAM.

In general, the modification doesn’t hit performance in any way if you have enough amount of VRAM (video card memory). Even if you run out of memory a bit, it shouldn’t be a problem (and if it will, you can always easily uninstall the mod).

Cyberpunk 2077 HD Reworked Project Ultra Quality: contains the highest quality textures and gives the best visual experience. Highly recommended for 2K/4K displays. Game can use up max 1-1,5GB more VRAM so most modern graphics cards should easy deal with it.

Cyberpunk 2077 HD Reworked Project Balanced: maintains high textures quality with lower VRAM usage. Recommended for graphics cards with less amount of memory. Game can use up only about 0,5-1GB more VRAM so basically everyone who can comfortably play the game can use this without experiencing any significant performance drops while having noticeably better textures.
