Test Setup
Please read the information on our GPU testing procedures and methodology here. Note that our GPU Testing Bench has been upgraded to the Ryzen 7 7800X3D CPU and AM5 platform.
Note that we have the 1807 BIOS installed, which uses AGESA version Combo AM5 PI 1.1.0.1. We are using the motherboard’s current default BIOS settings on the latest release BIOS. We have enabled PCI-Express Resizable BAR in the motherboard BIOS. This means we are utilizing Resizable BAR on NVIDIA GPUs and AMD Smart Access Memory on AMD GPUs in all our testing. We have enabled EXPO I in the BIOS for the memory.
We are using a fresh install of Windows 11 Pro with the latest Windows Updates, including the 23H2 Fall 2023 update. We have the latest drivers installed including the latest chipset drivers from AMD. We are using the “Balanced” power profile in Windows Settings. Hardware Accelerated GPU Scheduling is ENABLED in Windows. VBS is DISABLED and Game Mode is ENABLED.
For the ASUS TUF Gaming GeForce RTX 4070 Ti SUPER we are using NVIDIA supplied drivers for it to work, which are GeForce 551.15. For our comparison card, we are using an MSI GeForce RTX 4070 Ti GAMING SLIM because this video card operates at NVIDIA reference RTX 4070 Ti clock speeds, and therefore we can get a clear picture of the performance advantage with the new GeForce RTX 4070 Ti SUPER. For that video card, we are using previous testing from our full review on it, which uses the latest officially released driver available right now, GeForce 546.33.
For our comparison video card, the AMD Radeon RX 7900 XT at $899 launch MSRP is the only video card that makes sense to compare with. Currently, at the time of this launch, AMD is offering a special promotional pricing program for select etailers and retailers this quarter for the Radeon RX 7900 XT that brings it down to $749, we will have to see if that price remains, over time.

Join Discussion →Nice review. Interesting that there is still interplay between the AMD lineup and Nvidia's lineup. Seems like some of that AMD fine wine is still a factor.
This leaves me a much better taste than the RTX4070Super. I was considering getting a RTX4070Ti for a while, this makes it much more tempting.
I'm surprised on how many titles it can run at 4K even without DLSS
This is the card that I think stands out the most of the bunch. Basically just a cut-down 4080 at the price many were saying a 4080 should've launched at. I'm glad to see it performed so well and that it really had a knock down / drag out fight with the 7900 XT, at least until ray tracing came into play, as both are good cards. I'm also pleasantly surprised to see the trend continue with some newer cards where you can apply your power/voltage increases and over clocks while leaving the fans at auto. If I didn't have 3090 Ti's in my other two rigs I'd order one.
