Introduction
Our review today is evaluating the newest addition to the Radeon RX 7000 video card lineup, the 7600 XT. Specifically, the GIGABYTE Radeon RX 7600 XT Gaming OC. (GV-R76XTGAMING OC-16D) Launched in January 2024, this video card focuses on 1080p and 1440p resolutions. This card has increased GPU clock speeds and 16GB of VRAM to separate it from the Radeon RX 7600.
There is no “Made by AMD” version of the RX 7600 XT, therefore all offerings will be a custom variant in some fashion. Prices may vary from the MSRP of $329 depending on customizations. We have an excellent discussion of the specifications in our launch review here. More details may also be reviewed in our CES 2024 article.
GIGABYTE doesn’t need much introduction. The company is a well-known PC component manufacturer. Included in their offerings are motherboards, video cards, and numerous peripherals. The RX 7600 XT we are reviewing today is the lone offering in this category for GIGABYTE currently. They usually offer multiple versions of each video card, but our RX 7600 XT Gaming OC is going to be it for now.
The “Gaming OC” variant is generally in the top one-third of the product stack. It normally has a beefy heatsink, triple fans, some form of RGB and a generous factory overclock. Below we will delve into the factory overclock on this card and highlight the distinct features. We received a retail boxed card from GIGABYTE. The current price is $329 online, but check out our price widget below for the latest pricing. The warranty period is three years.
The GIGABYTE Radeon RX 7600 XT Gaming OC
The baseline clock speeds of the RX 7600 non-XT are 2250MHZ and 2655MHz. The “reference” clocks for the RX 7600 XT are 2470MHz and 2755MHz. The GIGABYTE Radeon RX 7600 XT Gaming OC sports clocks of 2539MHz and 2810Mhz (that being “Game clock” and “Boost clock”). From this you can see that we have a pretty hefty overclock from the factory. The memory clocks are the same, although the RX 7600 XT carries 16GB of VRAM. We will see in our testing if these changes make a difference.
First off, the packaging is very standard-formed foam. In the box is the video card. The top shroud is a gray imprinted plastic with raised fan cowls. The triple fans measure 80mm and have a unique striped texture. The center fan spins opposite the outer fans. The heatsink is the full cover, copper piped, and a direct contact type sink. On the back is a full-cover metal slotted backplate. The PCB is UltraDurable branded and certified. This includes “the highest-grade metal chokes, lower ESR solid capacitors, 2oz copper PCB, and lower RDS(on) MOSFETs, plus over-temperature design to deliver superior performance and longer system life.”
This is a full-sized video card measuring 11 x 4 x 2 inches, a 2.5-slot card. The video card is powered by 2 PCIe 8-pin connectors. The total power is listed at 190Watts and a 650Watt PSU is recommended. The I/O panel has 2 HDMI 2.1a and 2 Display Port 2.1 connections. The video card weighs in at 2 pounds 1 ounce. There is an RGB logo on the top far edge which can be controlled by the GIGABYTE Control Center software.
