Gaming Benchmarks Continued
In all of our graphs to follow, the bars are arranged from the fastest MT/s speed down, so 8200MT/s is on top, with 4800MT/s on the bottom, and this arrangement is locked in independent of the performance shown; they are not arranged by result, but rather by the DDR5 memory speed. All games are tested at 1080p and utilize game settings that allow CPU dependency, not GPU. In all games, we are using in-game real-world manual run-throughs for performance testing and the latest patches.
Dying Light The Beast

In Dying Light The Beast well we really don’t see any difference between RAM frequencies here in this particular game. This is abnormal compared to the games on the previous page, which did show a difference. It just seems that this particular game is not so sensitive to RAM frequency. Though we are on the “High” setting, perhaps a lower setting would show something, but we are already getting 200FPS in this game, so….
Horizon Forbidden West

What is true above is very much not true in Horizon Forbidden West; it is VERY RAM frequency sensitive. With the RAM at 4800MT/s, performance is at 141FPS. However, with the 6000MT/s CL28 memory kit, or the 8000 kit at 8200, performance jumps up by 24%!! That is absolutely huge, and the largest difference in this review. While the DDR5 8000MT/s EXPO kit at 8000MT/s isn’t the fastest, it is still 14% faster than 4800MT/s. However, it is also 8% slower than 6000MT/s CL28 on this platform.
Kingdom Come Deliverance II

We also see a big difference in Kingdom Come Deliverance II; here memory frequency matters as well. At 4800MT/s, we are getting 169FPS. When we use the 6000MT/s CL28 memory kit, that increases by 10%. Even more, when we use the DDR5 8000MT/s EXPO memory kit that improves by another 1.17%. At 8200, it falls back a little, about the same as 6000MT/s.
Resident Evil Requiem

Resident Evil Requiem is also sensitive to memory frequency. At 4800MT/s, performance is at 237FPS, but with 6000MT/s CL28 memory that improves by 8%. In this game, DDR5-8000 does make a difference, being 2% faster than 6000MT/s CL28. Overclocking to 8200 has a bit of a regression.
S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2: Heart of Chornobyl

In S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2, we also see that memory frequency plays a big role in performance in this game. At 4800MT/s, performance sits at 78FPS. Utilizing the 6000MT/s CL28 kit, performance improves by 6%. Furthermore, the DDR5-8000 kit improves performance even more by 5% and is the fastest performance shown here. Overclocking to 8200 has a regression.
