System Benchmarks
First, we will start with some system and rendering benchmarks: 3DMark, Cinebench 2026, and Geekbench 7. This will give us an idea of how the CPUs compare outside of gaming.
3DMark
In this 3DMark CPU Profile Max Threads benchmark, we can clearly see that the Zen 5 architecture is faster than the Zen 4 architecture by a noticeable degree in this synthetic benchmark. The Ryzen 7 7800X3D is 8% faster than the Ryzen 7 7700X3D. The Ryzen 7 9800X3D is 24% faster than the Ryzen 7 7800X3D, which is pretty impressive. The Ryzen 7 9850X3D is only 3% faster than the Ryzen 7 9800X3D. If we compare the fastest to the slowest, then the Ryzen 7 9850X3D is 36% faster than the Ryzen 7 7700X3D.
There is a big leap in the Zen 5 X3D CPUs’ single-core performance over Zen 4 X3D CPUs. The Ryzen 7 9800X3D is 25% faster than the Ryzen 7 7800X3D, which is impressive. The Ryzen 7 7800X3D is 6% faster than the Ryzen 7 7700X3D. The Ryzen 7 9850X3D is 6% faster than the Ryzen 7 9800X3D. From fastest to slowest, the Ryzen 7 9850X3D is 40% faster than the Ryzen 7 7700X3D.
Cinebench 2026
In Cinebench 2026, the newer Zen 5 X3D CPUs perform a lot better than the previous-generation Zen 4 X3D CPUs. The Ryzen 7 9800X3D is 22% faster than the Ryzen 7 7800X3D. The Ryzen 7 7800X3D is 7% faster than the Ryzen 7 7700X3D. The Ryzen 7 9850X3D is 1.4% faster than the Ryzen 7 9800X3D. The Ryzen 7 9850X3D is 32% faster than the Ryzen 7 7700X3D.
In Cinebench 2026 Single-Core testing, we can also see that the newer Zen 5 X3D CPUs are superior in performance. The Ryzen 7 9800X3D is 25% faster than the Ryzen 7 7800X3D. The Ryzen 7 7800X3D is 6% faster than the Ryzen 7 7700X3D. The Ryzen 7 9850X3D is 3% faster than the Ryzen 7 9800X3D. The Ryzen 7 9850X3D is 36% faster than the Ryzen 7 7700X3D.
Geekbench 7
In the Geekbench 7 Multi-Core test, the Ryzen 7 9800X3D is 16% faster than the Ryzen 7 9800X3D. The Ryzen 7 7800X3D is 5% faster than the Ryzen 7 7700X3D. The Ryzen 7 9850X3D is 2% faster than the Ryzen 7 9800X3D. The Ryzen 7 9850X3D is 24% faster than the Ryzen 7 7700X3D.
In the Geekbench 7 Single-Core test, the Ryzen 7 9800X3D is 20% faster than the Ryzen 7 7800X3D. The Ryzen 7 7800X3D is 7% faster than the Ryzen 7 7700X3D. The Ryzen 7 9850X3D is 5% faster than the Ryzen 7 9800X3D. The Ryzen 7 9850X3D is 35% faster than the Ryzen 7 7700X3D.
